When we started the Zuckerberg’s Lament mailing list it was about solving the problem of disconnection in the age of Facebook. It was, to be fair, a bit of a lark. Once the author of the list returned to Facebook it was questionable if the list still had a purpose. We deemed it did, and we started posting more regularly, and the number of subscribers has continued to grow.
There are currently 106 people who subscribe. It’s not a big list. But it’s a lot of people when you consider it as an audience. It’s not easy to gather 106 people when all you are offering them is a bit of a story. We’re proud of that number.
But we also want it to grow. Zuckerberg’s Lament has gone from lark to monthly lark and now is poised to drop the lark altogether. We’ve invited a few people to join us and write some longer form essays. We’ve packed some links and ephemera into the sidebar. It’s been an absolute joy to watch this project grow and we can’t wait to share it with you.
